Kommets are devices intended to plug holes, either temporarily or permanently. They function in the same manner as a knockout, however the centre of the kommet can be broken to allow wires, cables etc to pass through the newly formed hole. The kommet is made of low density polythene.

Features

Designed to hold tenaciously in holes punched or drilled in sheet metal up to 16 gauge thick.

There is allowance for a wide latitude in holes +/- 0.015 inches from nominal.

Colour - Available from stock in natural (translucent white) but can be supplied in other colours by arrangement.

Chemical Resistance - Polythene is a remarkably inert material but in cases where unusual environments will be encountered please consult us.

Fitting - Where possible kommets should be inserted from the smooth side of the hole. They can easily be installed by hand. Mechanical aids should be considered if large numbers are used.

Shape - Stock sizes are round but other shapes have been manufactured for special cases. We would be happy to consider any special requirements.

The use of tough polythene gives a maximum inside diameter for any given wall thickness.

Temperature - A range of +/- 60 degrees can be withstood in this application of polythene.

The range of sizes available increase with demand. Please inquire as to the latest additions to our range of stock.

Size is specified as the hole size and does not refer to the actual diameter of the kommet.
