Grommets are devices intended to be inserted into holes, either to protect the edge of the hole from marring, or more frequently to protect wires or cables passing through the holes from damage by sharp edges. The polythene grommets provide the following features as well as electrical insulation being provided.

Features

Designed to hold tenaciously in holes punched or drilled in sheet metal up to 16 gauge thick.

There is allowance for a wide latitude in holes +/- 0.015 inches from nominal.

Colour - Available from stock in natural (translucent white) but can be supplied in other colours by arrangement.

Chemical Resistance - Polythene is a remarkably inert material but in cases where unusual environments will be encountered please consult us.

Fitting - Where possible grommets should be inserted from the smooth side of the hole. They can easily be installed by hand.

Shape - Stock sizes are round but other shapes can be manufactured for special cases. We are pleased to consider any special requirements.

The use of tough polythene gives a maximum inside diameter for any given wall thickness.

Temperature - A range of +/- 60 degrees can be withstood in this application of polythene.

There is minimal deterioration with time of polythene provided the product is used under normal operating conditions.

The grommets are moulded to give a smooth surface that enables cables to slide easily through the aperture.

The range of sizes available increase with demand. Please inquire as to the latest additions to our range of stock.

Size is specified as the panel hole size and does not refer to the actual diameter of the grommet.
